On book clubs, during the pandemic, I was on the website of a Toronto church, looking for something else, when I noticed a link to an online book club. Shyly, I emailed the contact person and asked if I could join even if I attended a different church. They let me in, and I love our monthly meetings, which continued by Zoom when the pandemic ended.
Since high school in England I have loved reading and being read to our loud!
One of our Christmas family traditions is that I find a funny short story, usually by Stuart McLean, and someone reads it until they can't read anymore because they've decompensated into laughing uncontrollably, and then they pass the book to the next person. I don't know how everyone else in our 14 member family feels about me forcing this on them, but they love me and humour me. I hope they'll remember it with affection in years to come!
Oh friend, I’m so thrilled imagining you in your doctorate program🎉💃🏻!! What a shoe in—misunderstood initial deadline and all ;) You know I’ve loved your work and I’m looking forward to seeing how this new chapter will bring forth more of that goodness and depth that as a reader I’ve so enjoyed.
As for a reading circle I’ve never been in one and now I want to! I’m taking note for future books. This summer one thing I loved doing in the book club at my church as we read Holiness Here, was to record what each person thought was holiness at the beginning, and then on the last day. We had many wonderful discussions week after week, but that was one of my favourite.

That's very cool!
Dear Karen,

Love that!
I love, love all of this. What a gift to sit down around a table with your readers. And I can’t wait to hear about school, too! 📚
Thank you. It felt rare. ❤️

That's so cool Paola. I love that you had people interact with the book in that way. Thank you for reading Holiness Here in a group like that.
